Wooden Tamarind Tray

This beautiful wooden tray is made from suar wood and is shaped like a tamarind!

A tamarind is the fruit of a tree that is native to Africa but is grown in many other tropical countries. The fruit is used in cuisine. As a child, our in home carer Margoth was from El Salvador, and she would make up a drink using the pulp - a bit like lemonade. It was perfect for those warm summer days.

These trays are perfect for loose parts play as they have four compartments. Children can sort and classify loose parts by their attributes: colour, size, texture, type, shape or just however they choose! Children learn through hands on play, and this tray supports this open ended skill building.

We suggest you combine loose parts with these bowls and some of our products would work perfectly with this tray! Our felt stones, our felt marble range, or any of our animal figurines, or gems just to suggest a few.

Make sure you oil your wooden trays, plates and bowls. As a wooden product they can become dry which may lead to splitting or cracking in future. You can use natural oils such as coconut oil or olive oil. Mineral oil is another alternative. NEVER soak or submerge in water. If you need to clean them, use a damp cloth with a mild detergent and be sure to dry.

We will be posting a blog article on how to care for wooden trays soon!
