Brachiosaurus is a sauropod dinosaur that lived in the lands that are now North America.  It was first described way back in 1903. The name was chosen "arm reptile" because of its longer front arms!

  • The name Brachiosaurus means 'arm reptile'.
  • It is believed that a Brachiosaurus ate between 200 and 400 kilograms  of plants every day!
  • The Brachiosaurus was herbivorous.
  • The Brachiosaurus unusual because its front legs were longer than its back legs.
  • Their long front legs coupled with a long and powerful neck gave it an advantage of height when searching for food.
  • The Brachiosaurus was alive around 150 million years ago in the Upper Jurassic Period.
